In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Costa Mesa; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Costa Mesa is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Costa Mesa follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Mian at South Coast Plaza is one of the best places I've tried for Chinese noodles and comfort food. We ordered a variety of dishes, and overall everything was well prepared with generous portions and fresh ingredients. My favorite was definitely the Pork & Shrimp Pan-Fried Dumplings. The filling was packed with juicy pork and shrimp, and the crispy golden bottom gave it the perfect texture. This is a must-order. The Beef Roll Pancake is another dish I highly recommend. The beef was tender, the pancake was soft and flaky instead of chewy, and everything came together really well. The Chili Oil Dumplings were good, with a balanced flavor and mild level of spice. They weren't particularly memorable, but still enjoyable. For noodles, the Spicy Spareribs Noodle had a flavorful broth with a satisfying level of heat. If you enjoy spicy noodle dishes, this is a solid choice. The Clean Broth Beef Noodle was excellent. The broth tasted light, clean, and refreshing, allowing the natural beef flavor to shine. The noodles were cooked perfectly with a nice bite, and the beef slices were large and surprisingly tender. The Chengdu Fried Rice was another pleasant surprise. The seasoning is o

Great noodles! The broth is incredibly flavorful, and the spice level is just right, it adds heat without overpowering the other flavors or numbing your mouth. We ordered two spicy beef noodle soups, and even my Mexican family loved them, which honestly surprised me. The staff was also very friendly. I stopped by by myself once, and they were kind enough to let me charge my phone while I was there. They also have desserts if you’re looking for something sweet after your meal. Definitely worth giving this place a try!

We had dinner here the other night. They are inside South Coast Plaza and located on the level below Din Tai. There is ample parking available. The restaurant itself is charming and has a fun vibe. They have a great signature combo deal. For $25.99 you get a drink, an appetizer and a signature bowl of noodles. For $3 more you can add dessert. In addition to the combos we ordered, we got spicy cucumbers, vegetable fried rice and a cold combo. The spicy cucumbers were crispy and had a good amount of heat to it. The vegetable fried rice was addicting. The flavors were so good and we ate all of it. The cold combo was perfect to eat with the spicy soup noodles. With the signature combo, we got a brown sugar ginger tea and a passionfruit green tea. Both were sweet and refreshing. We got the chili oil dumplings. The dumplings were soft and flavorful. The spicy sparerib soup noodles were so delicious. I loved the bok choy. The noodles were so fresh and bouncy. The meat was falling off the bones. The broth was rich and had the right amount of kick to it. We got the brown sugar rice cakes and the pumpkin cakes for dessert. Both were sweet and so tasty. A perfect way to end the meal.

Excellent and experience here, attentive staff, stylish location and really good food. Especially enjoyed the spicy beef noodle, loaded with beef and noodles and excellent flavor. The 🌢️ oil dumplings appetizer came after the soup but was so good. This is an easy choice for quality food at a reasonable price.
